Travel by Air

The nearest major airport is the Philadelphia International Airport (PHL). The airport is located approximately 9 miles from the University of the Arts and approximately 9.2 miles from the official conference hotel, the Marriott Philadelphia Downtown.

If you have not made Ground Transportation arrangements prior to arriving at the Philadelphia International Airport, you may secure transportation information by visiting the Ground Transportation Information desk located in each baggage claim area. A Ground Transportation Information representative can assist you by providing a list of transportation providers that are authorized to travel to your destination. Please understand that Ground Transportation representatives cannot recommend specific services; however, they can provide you with transportation options. Representatives will provide instructions on how to contact the provider of your choice. They will also alert you once your provider arrives to pick you up.

Travel by Train

The nearest train station is the 30th Street Station. This station is located at 2955 Market Street, 30th Street Station, Philadelphia, PA 19104. Amtrak services this station. Upon arrival, you may take a taxi to either the conference hotel, the Philadelphia Marriott Downtown or to the University of the Arts. Average taxi fare to either location is $10.

Local Ground Transportation & Shuttle Service

Rail Service

Economical rail service is available from the Philadelphia International Airport to Suburban Station in Center City. Limousine & Shuttle Service

There are several companies who offer these services. Recommended by the Philadelphia Marriott Downtown Hotel is the Lady Liberty Shuttle Service. For information in addition to that provided below, please visit http://www.ladylibertyshuttle.com for complete Lady Liberty Shuttle information. The current fare is $10/person/trip plus gratuity.

Reservations are not required for airport arrivals. Service is available from 5:30am until 12:00 midnight. Shuttles depart the PHL airport approximately every 10‐15 minutes.

  • Upon Arrival please proceed to the Ground Transportation Counter (located in Baggage Claim) - Register with the counter attendant (ticket number will be called when van arrives)
  • Dial 27 from the ground transportation counter phones (in Baggage Claim) and inform dispatcher of destination and number in party (please call after luggage is claimed)
  • The ground transportation counter employees will then coordinate you outside to your Lady Liberty Shuttle van.
  • Lady Liberty Shuttles pick up outside baggage claim at ZONE 7.
  • Additional Shuttle and Limousine Service options may be found at http://www.phl.org/ground_transportation.html.

Taxi Service

Taxi service is available between the Philadelphia International Airport and the Philadelphia Marriott Downtown Hotel and the University of the Arts. One way transportation between the airport and the hotel is approximately $26.00 plus gratuity one way. Taxi services can be picked up at Zone 5 on the Commercial Transportation Roadway. Approximate ride time is 20 minutes.

Rental Cars

All major car rental companies operate out of Philadelphia International Airport. To catch the shuttle service to your rental car agency, please proceed to Zone 2 outside the Baggage Claim area.
