General Information and Submissions Guidelines The Distinction in Dance is an annual award* that is made to an individual whose professional, artistic or scholarly work has made a significant contribution to the field of dance. Nominations for recipients of this award may only be made by SDHS members, although the recipient need not be a member. We welcome nominations for individuals whose work in some way has significantly altered or influenced the field of dance; this may range from either a single influential article or dance work, for example, or may be the sum of a lifetime's work. To nominate a potential recipient for this award, please submit a one-page statement that outlines the following: - The name and contact details of the person submitting the nomination - The name of the nominee - A contextual statement that articulates the rationale for nominating the above individual for the award and a description of their distinctive scholarly, artistic or professional contribution to the field of dance Please send the nomination statement to: Society of Dance History Scholars All submissions must be received by 1 October 2010. *Please note that if the award committee feels that there are no suitable nominations in any one year, the award will not be made.
