Volunteer Leadership

Officers. Current officers of the Society of Dance History Scholars are Janice Ross (Stanford University), president; Allana Lindgren (University of Victoria), recording secretary; Gay Morris (independent scholar), corresponding secretary; and Susan Wiesner (independent scholar), treasurer.

Board of Directors. In addition to the officers of the society, members of the board of directors are Ann Cooper Albright (Oberlin College), Susan Cook (University of Wisconsin-Madison), Sherril Dodds (University of Surrey), Lisa Doolittle (University of Lethbridge), Nadine George-Graves (University of California-San Diego), Jens Richard Giersdorf (Marymount Manhattan College), Lena Hammergren (Stockholm University), Anthea Kraut (University of California-Riverside), Yatin Lin (Taipei National University of the Arts), Vida Midgelow (University College Northampton), Nèlida Monés Mestre (independent dance scholar and adjunct university lecturer, Barcelona), Terry Monaghan (Goldsmiths College, University of London), Ann Nugent (University College Chichester), Fernando Passos (Escola de Danca), Patricia Rader (New York Public Library for the Performing Arts), Jacqueline Shea Murphy (University of California-Riverside), and Yutian Wong (University of Illinois-Urbana-Champaign). Student representative to the board of directors is Sarah Nixon Gasyna (University of Toronto).

Editorial Board. The SDHS editorial board, which governs the publishing program of the society, is chaired by Ann Cooper Albright (Oberlin College). Current members of the board include Theresa Buckland (De Montfort University), Darcy Callison (York University), Sarah Davies Cordova (Marquette University), Jennifer Fisher (University of California-Irvine), Nadine George-Graves (University of California-San Diego), Marion Kant (University of Pennsylvania), and Vida Midgelow (University College Northampton). Ex officio members include the president, corresponding secretary, and the treasurer of SDHS.

Committees. Current standing committees of the society are titled: Academic Affairs, Nominations and Governance, Fiscal Management, and Membership and Communications. Ad hoc committees are formed to plan programs for annual conferences, to judge submissions for annual awards, and to perform various tasks in the interests of SDHS.

Working Group Chairs. Tricia Henry Young (Florida State University) is chair of the Dance History Teachers Working Group; Jane Peck (independent artist-scholar) is chair of the Early Dance Working Group; Joan L. Erdman (Columbia College Chicago) is chair of the Ethnicity and Dance Working Group; Debra Sowell (Brigham Young University) is chair of the Interdisciplinary Approaches to Nineteenth Century Dance Working Group; Sherril Dodds (University of Surrey) is Chair of the Popular, Social and Vernacular Dance Working Group; Thom Hecht (University of the Arts, London) and Vida Midgelow (University College Northampton) are co-chairs of the Practice-as-Research Working Group; Jody Sperling (independent scholar-artist) is chair of the Reconstruction Working Group; and Sarah Nixon Gasyna (University of Toronto) is chair of the Students in SDHS Working Group.

Website. Hannah Kosstrin (The Ohio State University) serves as Website Content Editor, and Krisanto Pranata (University of California-Riverside) serves as Webmaster.
